College Board Services for Students with Disabilities (SSD)

Services for Students with Disabilities is the College Board office that reviews requests for testing accommodations. If you need an accommodation such as extended time, your school’s SSD coordinator can help submit the request. College Board sends you a decision explaining which accommodations you can use on each applicable exam.

Services for Students with Disabilities (SSD) is the College Board office that decides whether you can use requested accommodations on an exam such as the SAT. Your school’s SSD coordinator handles the school’s part of the request. The coordinator can explain the consent form, describe the support you use in class, and send any documentation that College Board requests.

For example, if you use extended time on school tests, tell the coordinator which tasks you need it for. If College Board approves your request, read the eligibility letter for the exam you plan to take. It lists your approved accommodations for that test, so you can check the arrangements with your coordinator before test day.

Who should I contact at school?

Ask for the SSD coordinator. The coordinator can explain the consent form and submit your request through SSD Online.

What if I already use extended time at school?

Tell your coordinator how you use it. College Board reviews the request, and the coordinator can tell you whether supporting documents are needed.

Where can I read my decision?

You can open the decision letter in your Accommodations and Supports Dashboard. If College Board approves the request, the eligibility letter gives details for each applicable test.
