The TOEFL iBT is an English proficiency test covering reading, listening, writing and speaking. On the TOEFL, the language you encounter can come from a campus notice, an academic passage or a conversation. You also produce language yourself, for instance by responding to an interview question.

Suppose you are preparing for a semester abroad and have spent most of your practice time reading journal articles. Try writing an email to a course coordinator asking to change lab groups. State the problem, explain the scheduling conflict and make a clear request. Compare that exercise with the ETS list of current tasks when choosing what to practise next.
