LET and LEPT Subject Weights and Rating Rules
The Philippine Licensure Examination for Professional Teachers uses different subject weightings according to the candidate's qualification and level. General Education, Professional Education and any applicable Specialization results have distinct contributions. You should match the official exam programme to your qualification before interpreting the rating or preparing for another attempt.

The Licensure Examination for Professional Teachers requires careful reading of your candidate category. The Professional Regulation Commission publishes different paper combinations for elementary graduates, elementary examinees with a specialization and secondary teachers. Use the LET exam guide for subject preparation; this score guide explains how the parts of the examination contribute to a result.
Elementary teacher subject weights
The PRC’s official LEPT programme assigns 40% to General Education and 60% to Professional Education for elementary teacher examinees in the ordinary route. The greater weight on professional teaching knowledge matters when you review practice results: a change in that paper can affect the combined rating differently from a similar change in the general subject.
For elementary examinees with an approved specialization, the same official programme lists 20% General Education, 40% Professional Education and 40% Specialization. Compare your results with the subject list for your own degree and specialization. A candidate preparing for a different paper combination needs to review the applicable examination programme before transferring any practice weighting.
Secondary teacher subject weights
For the secondary route, the PRC subject-weight table likewise allocates 20% to General Education, 40% to Professional Education and 40% to Specialization. These represent weighted contributions to the overall performance, rather than independent totals to be added as if every section carried the same importance.
The PRC curriculum-alignment guidelines identify the eligible educational qualifications and examination subjects associated with the revised teaching curriculum. Check which major or specialization applies to your application. The examination programme is the appropriate source for the actual subjects you should prepare and the weighting of the result.
Read the reported rating and official outcome
The PRC’s published passing-rating rule requires a general average of at least 75%, while every subject must reach at least 50%. Candidates must meet both conditions for a passing examination result.
The Professional Regulation Commission’s results announcements identify the candidates who achieved licensure examination success. Use the official result and verification service when confirming an individual rating and its status. Subject weighting helps you understand the result profile, while the rules on licensure eligibility and the authority’s determination govern the official outcome.
For another attempt, separate mistakes in classroom assessment, curriculum concepts and your specialization. Examine a question whose answer was incomplete, identify which concept was missing and test the revised reasoning against a fresh example.
