ECAT Study Plan: Connect Concepts with Practice
Exam dates from official calendars, together in one place.
Connect ECAT preparation with the subjects you are studying at Intermediate or equivalent level. Choose a concept to explain, apply it in practice and keep the difficult step beside your correction. This guide helps you organise subject work and English preparation into focused sessions around college and your other commitments.

Use the subject material you already have to set a clear task for your next study block. Explain the relationship behind a concept, apply it to a problem and inspect the step that caused difficulty. Keep the original attempt beside the correction. Your next session can then begin with a specific piece of work around college commitments.
Prepare for your subject combination
UET describes ECAT as an Intermediate-level test. Start with your course materials and connect a topic to an action: explain a physical relationship, justify an algebraic step or describe why a scientific process happens. Choose an activity that lets you inspect your understanding through your own work.
UET publishes subject combinations selected according to Intermediate or equivalent subjects. Keep the combination you are preparing for visible on your topic checklist. Give the relevant subjects separate materials and rotate their tasks through your available study slots.
For mathematics practice, identify the quantities and explain the relationship before choosing a method. For physics, keep the units with the values and connect the result with the situation in the problem. For chemistry or another subject in your combination, explain the concept in your own words before applying it. These are proposed study activities to use with your course materials.
English appears alongside the selected combination. Give language practice a regular place in the week. With a passage from your preparation materials, state its main idea and identify the wording supporting your interpretation. Keep a vocabulary note connected to the sentence where the expression mattered.
Make a correction useful in fresh practice
After checking an attempt, separate understanding the concept from interpreting the information or carrying out the method. Return to the relevant course material and explain the missing connection. Then try a fresh problem using that idea. Leave the next task ready so that the following study block starts with useful work.
Sample 12-week plan
Weeks 1–4: connect topics and tasks
Choose 4 weekday blocks of 40 minutes and a 90-minute weekend session. Use Monday and Tuesday for subjects in your chosen combination, Wednesday for English passage interpretation and Thursday for another relevant subject task. At the weekend, revisit the concept that caused the most difficulty and attempt a fresh application.
Weeks 5–8: strengthen the difficult step
Begin each session with 10 minutes returning to an earlier correction. Rotate the subjects through the weekday slots and keep English practice regular. Use the longer block to inspect whether the corrected method fits a new problem.
Weeks 9–12: connect timing and analysis
In the final 4 weeks, reserve the longer block for timed work from your preparation materials. Give analysis the following session and turn recurring difficulties into named topics and actions. Keep a 40-minute reserve slot around classes and revision.
