MDCAT Study Plan: Connect Concepts and Practice
Exam dates from official calendars, together in one place.
Give MDCAT preparation a clear task for today: explain a science concept, interpret a practice problem or identify the reasoning behind an answer. Keep the attempt and correction together so that the next session begins with a useful question. This guide helps you organise subject practice around college and other commitments.

Choose the question you want your next study block to answer. You might explain why a biological process happens, connect a chemistry relationship with a practice problem or describe what the information in a physics task supports. Keep the explanation beside the attempt. That gives the next session a practical starting point around college and other commitments.
Give each subject a useful action
PMDC’s 2025 final MDCAT curriculum lists Biology, Chemistry, Physics, English and Logical Reasoning. Use subject headings to organise your preparation materials, then name an action under the topic you are studying. Make the task specific enough to attempt, check and explain in the time you have.
For a biology topic, describe the relationship between a structure and its function. For chemistry, explain the principle behind the method before applying it. For physics, connect the quantities, keep their units visible and inspect what the result means in the practice problem. These are ways to turn course material into active study tasks.
Give English and reasoning their own tasks too. Explain the meaning of an expression in context and identify the wording that supports your interpretation. For a reasoning problem, describe how the stated information leads to the conclusion. Keep the correction precise enough to apply in another task.
Find the step that needs attention
After practice, separate understanding the concept from interpreting the question or carrying out the method. Return to the relevant course material and explain the missing relationship in your own words. Then attempt fresh practice that uses it. Keep the original work and your explanation together so that revision returns to the actual difficulty.
Sample 12-week plan
Weeks 1–4: connect concepts and questions
Choose 4 weekday blocks of 40 minutes and a 90-minute weekend session. Use Monday for biology, Tuesday for chemistry, Wednesday for physics and Thursday for English and logical reasoning. In the longer session, revisit the most difficult science concept and attempt a fresh problem involving it.
Weeks 5–8: make corrections useful
Begin each block with 10 minutes returning to an earlier attempt. Explain the step that changed your answer before practising the topic again. Rotate difficult concepts through the weekday slots and keep regular language and reasoning work in the week. Use the weekend to inspect mixed practice and identify the next priority.
Weeks 9–12: practise and analyse together
Reserve a longer slot for timed work using your preparation materials. Put analysis in the following study block and turn recurring difficulties into named topics and actions. Keep a 40-minute reserve slot for work displaced by college commitments. Leave the next problem, passage or explanation ready before the session begins.
Keep the next task visible in ExamLuma
Choose MDCAT as your exam in ExamLuma, set a daily study-time goal and run a focus session. Save completed study blocks and use weekly statistics to adjust your routine. Put the subject, materials and intended outcome in your weekly study plan at a time you can protect.

Frequently asked questions
How can I turn a science topic into a study task?
Choose a relationship to explain and a practice problem that uses it. After checking the response, identify whether the difficulty came from the concept, interpreting the information or carrying out the method.
How should I review a physics calculation?
Explain the relationship between the quantities before calculating. Keep the units with the values, inspect the step that caused difficulty and apply the corrected method in fresh practice.
Where can English and reasoning fit in the week?
Give language and reasoning tasks regular study blocks alongside science revision. For English, explain meaning in context; for reasoning, describe how the information supports the conclusion.
How can ExamLuma support preparation?
Choose MDCAT as your exam, set a daily study-time goal and time focus sessions. Save completed blocks and use weekly statistics to adjust the next week around college and other commitments.
